How to Moderate Family Contributions

Moderation protects a memory page: nothing is published without your consent, and the tone stays gentle.

The approval queue

All memories submitted by family land in a moderation queue in the editor, not on the page right away. You see the author, their circle, and the content of each entry. This gives you time to calmly decide what to do.

Approve, hide, delete

An approved memory is published and takes its place — in the timeline, the gallery, or the stories. A hidden one stays with you but isn't shown to visitors. A deleted one disappears entirely.

A gentle tone

If an entry is too personal, contentious, or painful, you can set it aside and return to it later. Memory is about care, and you have the right to decide what to show and when. No one but you controls the page's content.

How not to hurt contributors

Declining a memory doesn't notify the author bluntly — they simply won't see their entry published. If a story is valuable but needs edits, you can adjust the circle or tweak the text. Gentleness matters not only toward the one who has passed but toward those who share the memories.

  • Everything submitted goes to a queue first.
  • Approve · hide · delete.
  • Anything contentious can be set aside.
  • Texts can be edited.

Frequently asked questions

Will the author know I hid their story?
No, declining happens quietly — no blunt notifications go to the author.
Can a deleted memory be restored?
A hidden one — yes, at any time; a deleted one is gone for good, so it's better to hide anything contentious rather than delete it.
